Mrs. Michelle Schaefer To All Instructors

Hello, my name is Michelle Schaefer. I’m a former nurse turned stay-at-home mom to three sweet girls, Sofia (9), Aria (7), and Olivia (14 months). Two of them I’m now homeschooling, and one is a busy little toddler. This is our second year homeschooling, and this season is stretching me in so many ways. I’m learning how to slow down, find joy in new hobbies, take care of my health, grow in faith, and be present for my girls and my family.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a major in Media Studies and a minor in Theatre and Arts, as well as an Associate’s degree in Nursing. I spent about 10 years working in various hospitals in the Houston Medical Center, with a special focus on geriatrics.

We are a proud military family. My husband served as a medic in the U.S. Army, and we’ve moved around quite a bit. Most recently, we lived in Cedar Park, TX for about 3 years before moving back to the Houston area to be closer to family. Through all the seasons of change, art has always been a creative outlet for me. I love painting, cooking, baking, fitness, and I also enjoy volunteering. We currently attend Grace Church.

Now, I’m excited to share my love for art with homeschoolers through painting classes that encourage creativity, joy, and confidence!
